Project overview.

In collaboration with Startup Refugees, we explored how AI and cybersecurity can be applied to strengthen social integration for refugees and immigrants in Finland. Together, we supported the enhancement of their employment platform Match, which securely connects refugees to job opportunities, mentors, and entrepreneurship programs.

Challenge & Approach.

As the number of newcomers to Finland increased, the Match platform faced challenges in scalability, security, and data protection. With limited technical resources, Startup Refugees needed to ensure the privacy of sensitive user data while improving system performance and maintaining trust among its community. Through our partnership, technical and product experts from Netlight, worked closely with Startup Refugees to identify key bottlenecks and strengthen the platform’s cybersecurity.

The
Impact.

The team developed KARTAL, a new AI-driven method for web-application vulnerability detection using Large Language Models. The approach introduced automation in vulnerability discovery and improved Match’s performance through optimized cloud-based architecture.

  • Improved Security: Strengthened data protection and reduced vulnerability risks.

  • Enhanced Efficiency: The platform now performs faster and supports onboarding more users.

  • Scalable Innovation: Created a secure, adaptable infrastructure for future AI-driven tools that support refugee employment and inclusion.
